Joshua Roberts was born on July 21, 1795 in Albermarle County, Virginia. On November 29, 1827, he married Annie Parks Little in Jackson County, Georgia. Annie was born on March 14, 1807 in Butts County, Georgia.
Joshua Roberts died on July 21, 1876 in Cleburne County, Alabama. Annie Parks Little Roberts died on March 7, 1885. Dr. David Parks Roberts was born on April 11, 1835 in Carroll County, Georgia. On October 4, 1855, he married Lucinda Wright Sims Thackerson in Polk County, Georgia. Lucinda was born on August 22, 1835 in South Carolina.
Dr.
David had a number of patients and lots were family connected. He
traveled miles doctoring people and delivering babies. He traveled by
horse and buggy. Dr. David and his wife Lucinda were in the buggy or
wagon when the train came by blowing its whistle. The train scared the
horses and they ran away throwing Lucinda out of the wagon. She died

They were both members of Camp Creek Baptist
Church, which was established in 1848. At one time most of the members
at Camp Creek Baptist Church were Roberts, and the others had Roberts
connections. Dr. David's large family Bible stayed in Camp Creek Baptist
Church for years. It was still there February 11, 1965. The old church

James "Jim" Joseph Roberts was born on January 6, 1858 in Alabama. In 1881, he married Martha M. Jim died on February 13, 1937 and Martha died on January 25, 1936. Jeff Franklin Roberts was born on March 19, 1890 to the marriage of Jim and Martha Roberts. On December 20, 1909, he married Emma Idell Stringer who was born in Lincoln County, Mississippi on October 19, 1890. Her parents were William Otto and Nancy Jane "Nannie" Albritton Stringer.
Jeff and Emma moved to Franklin Parish, Louisiana before moving to Sicily Island. The Roberts family were always active in the church. Jeff taught Junior Boys Sunday School Class at Pine Hill Baptist Church for fifteen years. Emma was a teacher of the Ladies Class for many years.

DEB.....I just realized yesterday that Dr David Parks Roberts is part of my family tree also. He married my Second Great-Grandmother Mary Jane James.
