2 Tablespoons of salt???? Tried making but liquid to dry ratio is off. I had to add a lot of flour to even get the batter thick enough to fry.
Is that 1 teaspoon baking soda?
Yes, I believe so. These recipes came from an old, old recipe book. I have not tried this particular one but I have noticed that the older recipes list baking soda as simply "soda".
1 cup yellow cornmeal1/4 cup all-purpose flour1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt1 egg, lightly beaten3/4 cup milk1 small onion, finely chopped
