| Mrs. Eva Mabel McKay Mount |
Eva Mabel McKay was born in Sicily Island on August 24, 1903 to the marriage of Thomas Columbus McKay and Annie Adelot Punchard.
She married Hobert Sims Mount who was born in Catahoula Parish on April 6, 1904 to the marriage of William H. Mount and Ella Cross.
The following children were born to the marriage of Eva and Hobert:
Mary Lou
William Hobert
Ella Ann
Elizabeth "Bibba"
Eva Mount taught school for thirty-six years. Many former students from Sicily Island remember her as their third grade teacher.
In 1968 she was honored with a retirement tea at the home of Mrs. Sophie Lee Crawford Haley where she was presented with an engraved silver tray commemorating her many years of service.
Eva Mabel McKay Mount died on March 4, 1996 and is buried in the Highland Park Cemetery in Sicily Island, Catahoula Parish, Louisiana. Hobert Sims Mount died on January 21, 1971 and is buried in the Jena Cemetery in Jena, LaSalle Parish, Louisiana.
