Rastus Lee Thurman Family

Rastus Lee Thurman was born in Arkansas on November 26, 1896 to the marriage of Marion and Virginia G. Thurman.

The Thurman family moved to Louisiana prior to 1918 where Rastus married Annie A. Guyton.  Annie was born in Louisiana on April 2, 1897 to the marriage of Isaac and Martha Guyton.

The 1930 U.S. Census shows Rastus, Annie and seven of their ten children living in the Grayson area of Caldwell Parish, Louisiana.

The 1940 U.S. Census shows Rastus, Annie and eight of their ten children living in Ward 2 of Catahoula Parish, Louisiana.

Rastus Lee Thurman died on March 25, 1953.  Annie A. Guyton Thurman died on September 1, 1953.  Both are buried in the Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, Caldwell Parish, Louisiana.  The tombstone photograph was taken by FindAGrave member, Karen Klemm Pinckard.
