Matthew and Jane Duke Stone Family
Matthew Stone was born on July 28, 1763 to the marriage of John and Mary Warren Musgrove Stone. On July 30, 1789, he married Jane Duke. Jane was born on March 17, 1771 to the marriage of Thomas and Elizabeth Duke.
Matthew and Jane Stone lived in Oglethorpe County, Georgia through at least 1801. The birth of their son Alfred in 1805 in Catahoula Parish is the first mention of the family living in Louisiana.
