William Charles Mason Family

William Charles Mason was born in England circa 1866.  He married Martha "Mattie" Jane Mitchell in Amite County, Mississippi on May 26, 1883.

Mattie was born in the LaSalle/Catahoula Parish area on June 18, 1854 to the marriage of Charles S. Mitchell and Luanana "Lucy Ann" Louisiana Evans.  Mattie's marriage to William followed her marriages to Andrew Nelson in Franklin County, Mississippi in 1871 and a second marriage to Zachariah Carlock in Franklin County, Mississippi in 1877.

William and Mattie moved to Sicily Island between 1920 and 1930.  The 1930 census shows them living in Ward Two, Catahoula Parish.

William died on August 21, 1933 and Mattie died on September 25, 1942.  Both are believed by family to be buried in the Old Pine Hill Cemetery in Sicily Island.  Tombstone photographs are unavailable at this time.

William and Lizzie settled in Franklin Parish and had the following children:

Mary and Walter lived in Franklin Parish for a period of time but settled in Pearl River County, Mississippi.  They had the following children:
