Santa Claus Is Coming To Town was written by John Frederick Coots and Haven Gillespie back in the 1930s. Over the years, many different singers have recorded this old time favorite including the Harry Reser Band with Tom Stacks, Tommy Dorsey and Orchestra, Perry Como, The Four Seasons, and Bruce Springsteen.
It was first sung on the Eddie Cantor show in November of 1934 when my mother was eight years old. She loved this Christmas song and sang it to each of my children when they were little.
The version below is one of the oldest and was perhaps one the versions my mother listened to as a young girl.
