Sunday's Obituary - Rev. William Thomas Woodward

WINNSBORO, July 15 (Special)
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Methodist Church, Sicily Island, for Rev. W. T. Woodard, 87, who died about noon today at his residence in Sicily Island.
Services were conducted by Rev. J. J. Davis, assisted by Rev. J. Harris.
Interment was in the Pine Hill Cemetery, near Sicily Island, under the direction of First National Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. W. S. Peck, Sr., Sicily Island, Miss Willy Woodward, Sicily Island, and Mrs. A. J. Wyly, Lake Providence; one sister, Mrs. Owen McDonald, Cone Atta, Miss.; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Rev. Woodward was at one time pastor of the Sicily Island Methodist Church, and member of Louisiana Methodist Conference during his entire ministerial life.

Reverend Woodward was born on December 7, 1866 to the marriage of Bird John Woodward and Mary Jane McNabb.  On October 20, 1891 he married Rosa Jane Bacot in Pike County, Mississippi.  Rosa Bacot was born on April 6, 1858 to the marriage of Levi Bacot and Ann Roberts.

The following children were born to the marriage of Rev. William Thomas Woodward and Rosa Jane Bacot:
Barbara Estelle
Willy Lee
Myrtis Love
Rev. Woodward died on July 15, 1954 and Rosa Bacot Woodward died on February 19, 1937.  Both are buried in the Old Pine Hill Cemetery near Sicily Island, Catahoula Parish, Louisiana.
