Willie Earl Cupit and Mary Augusta Smith were married in 1907 in Mississippi. At some point in 1920 and following the births of all but the youngest of their children, they moved from the Bude/Meadville area of Mississippi to Sicily Island, Catahoula Parish, Louisiana.
